Which professions qualify for a CRB Check?

 

Organisations must comply with the provisions of the: Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, which requires employers to do an ENHANCED BACKGROUND checks for certain professions.

Of primary concern are:

A) Employees whose duties involve regular contact with people who are under 18 years of age. Where those duties include caring for, training, supervising, or being in sole charge of children.

B) People working with vulnerable adults. Many other careers and proceedings also require screening.

Other occupations requiring STANDARD BACKGROUND checks include:

  • National Security - airside employees. (workers with direct access to aircraft and baggage)
  • Private Security ( doormen, wheel clampers, guards, investigators)
  • Taxi, Private Hire, and PSV Licensed drivers
  • Gaming Board employees which require licensing
  • Football Stewards
